ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS

1) Basics of electicity

We start this very important unit with the BASICS OF ELECTRICITY AND ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS:
a) First, let's find out what atoms and electrons are and how they are related to electricity: Introduction to electricity - Atoms and electrons
b) Second, learn the historical origin of some important electrical concepts and words:

2) Practices: simulation of circuits with crocodile clips

  1. Save the document Practices with Crocodile Clips in your computer (and print it at home!!).
  2. Simulate the circuits in the previous document and answer the questions in your notebook/photocopies ((if you are using your notebook, you have to write down the question too).
  3. If you have to do some practices at home, you can use the program Yenka, instead of Crocodile Clips (you can download Yenka from this website)

3D printing

1) Designing objects with BlocksCAD

We start with 3D printing using blockscad. Follow these instructions:
1. Go to www.blockscad3d.com
2. Register (create an account). TAKE DOWN TO YOUR NOTEBOOK THE USERNAME AND PASSWORD!!!
3. Click in CREATE NOW and play a little with the options you have on the left margin.
4. Google "tutorial blockscad build a cup" and you will getthe instructions needed to create a mug. Let the teacher know when you finish.
5. Personalize your cup with different colors, shapes, additional objects (more hundles, straws...), your name, etc.
